Vegetarian Eatery Amy’s Drive Thru Opens At San Francisco International Airport

Vegetarian eatery Amy’s Drive-Thru has opened at San Francisco International Airport, located at Harvey Milk Terminal 1.

Amy’s Drive-Thru Instagram says this about its new airport location, “Get ready for next-level airport food for omnivores, vegans, vegetarians and gluten-free eaters alike. Think breakfast sandwiches, veggie burgers, milkshakes and more.”

Amy’s began in 1987 when there was no national certification for organic, and organic foods were hard to find. The company invested in small, local family farms to grow natural ingredients, and as Amy’s grew, so did the farms.

Amy’s Kitchen is one of the first to start the organic food movement, and Amy’s Drive-Thru first opened four years ago in Rohnert Park, California the US first organic, vegetarian fast food restaurant.

The airport location serves a variety of comfort food classics which can all be made vegan upon request. For instance, the menu some of their classic offerings such as burgers, pizzas, mac and cheese, and burritos.

Amy’s Drive-Thru burger patties are dairy-free, lactose-free, tree nut-free, vegan and plant-based. Such as their quarter-pound veggie burger. They also use organic potatoes to make their French fry recipe.

The opening of Amys Drive-Thru at SFO airport is excellent news for travellers looking for vegetarian options.

There will be more new restaurants coming soon to SFO. The airport has just completed the first phase of Terminal 1 redevelopment July 23, 2019. Officially named Harvey Milk Terminal 1, and won’t be complete until 2022.

You can grab breakfast between 5am-10: 30 am and open between 5am-10pm every day.
