Being awarded at the Moodie Davitt Airport FAB Awards is like winning an Oscar in the airport food category. Trust me, I was there at their Toronto awards show in 2017, making sure Vane readers get the latest on the best in healthy food and beverage at airports.

Here are three reasons they won an award this year
1. They have a funky interior design, inspired by nature. It’s centered on a “tree of life” with overhanging branches covered in hip lighting fixtures. Remember: It’s not just what they serve, it’s how they make you feel, and the atmosphere is an important part of that.
2. They don’t just serve beverages. The award is for a “Beverage Shop,” but the awards criteria point out that customers expect “a range of tasty and interesting snack foods that may include sandwiches, panini, pastries, cakes, patisserie and biscuits, friendly and efficient service and somewhere comfortable to relax for a few minutes.” So along with the atmosphere, Treehouse Juicery offers food.
And it’s not just a few scones or wraps, either! There’s a healthy breakfast menu, a yogurt corner, a pastry counter (don’t miss the super green matcha croissant!), a salad bar, and a full selection of sandwiches and wraps.
3. But, oh yeah, those beverages. Take your choice of 100% raw cold-pressed juices. Go simple with orange, cloudy apple, or carrot. Perk up with greens, beets, citrus, or a tropical mix.
