Fitness On-The-Fly Coming Soon to Heathrow Airport

There are plenty of things you can do during a layover. However, none of them will be as rewarding for your mind, body, and spirit as breaking a sweat pre-flight. It’s easier than ever with FlyFit Heathrow opening this autumn.

“The new premium service from FlyFit brings personalised exercise choices into our customer’s journey, leaving them refreshed and ready for their onward travel,” says Chris Annetts, Heathrow’s retail and service proposition director.

The wellness studio is opening in Terminal 2, where 16 million passengers travel through each year. FlyFit Heathrow’s concept came from wanting to boost healthy options for frequent fliers – and out of 16 million, there’s bound to be quite a few. The studio space will offer a variety of instructor-led yoga and cardio classes.

They will have 2 yoga studios, one instructor-led and the other for self-practice, private lessons, and meditation. You can also pay extra for a private one-on-one yoga lesson. In addition to yoga, they will also have an interactive cycle studio where are passengers can jump on a bike and have their own workout as they please.

Of course, there’s no need to worry about being sweaty (or smelly) on your flight. They will have showers! However, they won’t be rented out like lounge and gym facilities. They will only be available to those passengers working out at FlyFit Heathrow.

Furthermore, if you don’t have proper gym clothing, you don’t need to stress! They’ll be providing clothing rentals. They will have a full rental program including a variety of mens and women’s yoga and cycle gear, including proper cycling shoes.

At this point, FlyFit Heathrow isn’t revealing their costs for use. What we do know is that there will be walk-in options as well as a selection of membership packages.

However, if you have your heart set on free weights – keep dreaming. FlyFit explains that they’re “not a gym” and more of a space to get the circulation flowing before a flight. They also told us that “lifting weights are actually counter-intuitive when traveling”.

Location: Terminal 2: The Queen’s Terminal, Post-Security
